Athlete of the Week: Walker Webb, Franklin Road Academy Golf

Sophomore Walker Webb continues to shine in Tennessee’s golf community, leading Franklin Road Academy to win the Middle Regional Championship in the DII-A class. Ranked 29th in the state across all divisions by the PGA TN High School Association, Webb’s success is no surprise. His passion for golf started at the age of five when his father introduced him to Lightning Bug Golf Course. In 2020, JJ Blanton shared Webb’s story on YouTube, highlighting his early love for the game. Webb has since competed and won multiple tournaments across Middle Tennessee, and his victory at the US Kids Championship in Pinehurst, NC, was a major highlight of his career.

In 2020, JJ Blanton shared Walker’s story on YouTube, detailing his journey. Blanton said, “Walker brings a passion and inspiration to the sport while composing himself in an excellent manner and perfectly exemplifies the 9 core values of golf. Celebrities such as Rudy Gatlin, Eddie George, and others have all played with Walker and have complemented his game and character to the highest degree. Walker is a perfect role model and example for junior golfers and encompasses all the skills to be an ambassador of the game along with Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player.”

One of the most common injuries in golf is lower back pain, which can greatly impact a golfer’s performance. Studies show that 34% of professional golfers experience back pain, often due to the repetitive motion of swinging. If you’re suffering from back pain or want to prevent injury, schedule an appointment with Dube Orthopedics and Physical Therapy to ensure a pain-free game.
